To kickoff Native American Heritage Month BCC held various activities for staff, students and the community. Drumming, Dancing, Student Presentations in Blackfeet Language and Stick Game were held.

The presentation was put on by the Blackfeet Language Studies Department. The meaning behind the Blackfeet War Shirts and their history is told by Lea Whitford.

Instructor Jim Kipp interviews workers at the drill site. They explain the process of setting up oil rigs and removing them. Anschutz Exploration Corporation is the company drilling.

Students from the forensics class give interviews on the fracking that is happening on the reservation and study the impacts it is doing to the environment. Water quality monitoring and soil testing are done by the students.

The students gave their presentations on Oil & Gas and held discussions on fracking, ecosystem, chemicals, additives, and the use of steel tanks.

Marla Knopfle Fish leads a class of younger students on how to make Hand Game sets. While the students are sanding down their sticks Marla explains the importance of the sticks and their meanings.
